Peace brothers and sisters in faith,

Hi. My name is Yenny from Indonesia. Ive recently just joined this forum and been very interested in finding more truth that's taught in Quran. There's one thing ive been wondering though for sometime. Do we as a quranist allowed to wake up and pray at 3am? Cos its been said that it's good for you in terms of your faith, cos while people are asleep you are awake to glorify God. And also a lot of people have proven they have better quality thinking and energy throughout the day.

Thanks for your kind response. Peace and blessings be upon you. 🙏

Hello and peace to you Yenny! I recently read this verse:

"Can (such people be equal to) the one who worships during the hours of night, prostrating himself and standing, fearing the Hereafter and having hopes in his Lord’s mercy? Say, “Can those who know and those who do not know become equal?” It is only the people of understanding who are receptive of the advice." 39:9

And I recall reading a few other places in the Quran as well that speak about praying and worshipping God in the night is elevated as best...

But I don't think there is a specific hour in the night given in the Quran that is best.

But it is clear that the Quran does set the night apart as especially sweet and sacred devotion time...and that "it is ONLY people of understanding who are receptive to the advice"

Uphold thou the duty at the merging of the sun until the dark of night, and the recitation of dawn — the recitation of dawn is witnessed —
(17:78)
by looking at the conjugation of arabic verb which is aqim (aphold in english) singular not plural and also by looking at the verse before it, it is clear this is adressed to the prophet, the prophet does a higher level of worship to god than us, if you do that of course god willing you will get the reward , but if you dont do it you wont go to hell for it

my opinion focus on stuff depending on the priority, do the stuff which is adressed to us first , and then if you still got the comitment and time , do the stuff which is also adressed to the prophet if possible
