And we have presented to men in this Quran every sort of example. And if thou come to them with a proof those who are indifferent to warning will say: You follow only vanity. This God seals the hearts of those who know not. And be thou patient. The promise of God is true. And let not those who are not certain sway thee. Quran 30:58-60

And We have struck for men in this Qur’an every similitude. And if thou come to them with a proof, those who ignore warning will say: “You are only creators of vanity.”

from what i understand "example" or "similitude" means like a type of proof, like historical example like when it speaks about ancient egypt , or linguistic example when it does synonymes of names of prophets whose names are in hebrew, or numeral example like when you calculate how many a word repeats
