Salaamun Alaikum all
My name is Sameer Hassen from Pietermaritzburg South Africa, 33 years of age, married with 1 child a son and expecting 1 anytime now, I work full time at a Law Firm and decided to study Law a few years ago I am on my 3rd year now I am also a recovering addict and have been a submitter since the January 2024 which is 9 months previously a Sunni. For some reason I could not continue with my studies until I read and tried to understand the translation of the Quran and I was amazed as how much lies were taught to me in Madressa, at the Masjid and by family by using just the traditional translation. I did extensive research thereafter and wrote up to the Fatwa Department at the Jamiatul Ulama KZN in Pietermaritzburg South Africa to address concerns but was advised it is a worthless task nevertheless I continued with my research made notes started my own translation of the Quran as have realised that the Sunni translation or other translations out there do not give the true message of the Quran and are done to suit the narrative.
I've tried advising family and friends of my findings and have been rejected, yet I continue with studying the Quran and translation for my own good and others that are willing to listen.
I have shared some of what I have done except my translation.
I am grateful to know something like this exists, as the feeling of being the only 1 is starting to get to me.
Salaamun Alaikum
