life long question of mine
our Creator has intentionally created us into different tribes so we may get to know each other and embrace each other
and not ram our ideologies and rituals down each others throats

is there really a short easy straight line up that magical mountain or a long meandering one just as fulfilling

traditional muslim view on christians: 1+1+1 = 3
some christians view it as: 1 X 1 X 1 = 1

traditional muslim view on hindus: millions of gods
some hindus view it as: all manifestations & characteristics of the 1 God

lens & perspective is critical in ones journey :)

Peace to you,

I 100% agree that people get carried away with their ideologies and make them serve their egos all with the intention of "winning the debate". This, I believe, is a completely wrong approach that will never lead one to the truth. I think that one must be sincere in their quest to find the Truth.

I also agree that there are different ways of perceiving God by different cultures. However I think that from a monotheist perspective, these interpretations are false since these are not the "qualities" of God, but literal different deities with different characteristics and names. While there are various attributes that God ascribes to Himself in the Quran, it always implies his singularity. It's not like Rahman and Raheem are different deities and subjects. I don't think this is the view of the majority of Christians and Hindus.

That's my understanding as of now.

I think you are right that God designed for us to have some freedom to be different. I think its a beautiful means in His providences for us to grow in our love, tolerance, humility, and patience.

I can speak from being inside Christianity for over 20 yrs The foundation core defining belief that is necessary for identifying as a Christian is that Jesus is God Almighty incarnate/as man who died for mankinds sins.

So that is one of the 1 values in that math equation. The issue is much deeper than that math equation. The 1x1x1=1 is just an apologetic trick to cling to monotheism title but that math equation is not a true representation. One thing they are not all the same 1 values. lol

But I encourage you to always ask a Christian what they believe and not just assume they are polytheists in denial...there are a few Christians who doctrinally would line up with what is called "Biblical Unitarians" they are monotheistic they deny the trinity but sadly they still believe Jesus to be the "son of God" and believe God to be incapable of forgiveness without expiating/satisfying His wrath and justice. So Jesus is necessary atoning sacrifice and mediator for God to forgive their sins. And Jesus is the necessary means for imputed righteousness for believers to receive God's favor/paradise.

I think the Quran is very clear about ascribing partners or mediators and God is truly the Most Merciful and Forgiving. Sadly I think at the foundation level most Christians do not know God's mercy and forgiveness. They use those words but their definitions are very different. Just as they ascribe to themselves "monotheism" but their definition of that is very different than God's in the Quran.

But I believe we should love them and have compassion for them and patiently share truth with them and treat them with respect. That being said I think it is also unloving to not warn them and not share truth with them. There is such a thing as evil silence/being a silent devil. Not everything labeled "tolerance" is nobel and good.
