Arabic dictionary?

@Uncovered Faith That is the main one I found so far. And agree it does have traditional slant just as the Christian lexicons and dictionaries will push their orthodoxy bias into words meanings of scope and range.

It's strange to me how much more study aids there are for Bible c/c Quran. Is there a lot more available in Arabic? Or is this kind of something most scholars just follow Hadiths so textual materials are not as available because not much interest/use?

Or is this a western/eastern difference in general thinking and dealing with religious texts? I had done some study into Hebrew Roots/messianic Judaism and the materials I was using presented a very strong dichotomy difference for eastern vs western ways of thought and intentions of writing. Maybe that was all nonsense to make western think they need their materials to arrive at proper meaning and good way to control the text meaning. Lol

I agree, there are far more resources for Biblical study. Or so it seems. Like you suggest, perhaps there are more in Arabic.
I watched a video of Hamza Yusif meeting some monks and was embarrassed to hear him quoting Hadith yet saying ‘ The Quran says’. I think The Hadith is so etched in to the fiber of Islam that they truly believe it is the Quran 😪

Oh I recently watched that very same video of Hamza Yusif and know exactly what you referring to! I admit though I do appreciate his charitable and respectful manner in which he conducts himself with others. And I do appreciate to get his broad perspective of various faiths and philosophies that he is learned in and often quotes in his discussion... but I agree there is a part that the Hadiths is so mixed they don't always site it and instead say "Islam teaches" "Quran teaches" "God says" and your brain readily accepts it/conflates it. This is part of why years ago I quit using Bibles that have commentary in the text...because I realized that you are more submissive and receptive to commentary being accepted as "God's Word" and more easily conflate the two together in your memory.

And kind of on topic... I just realized tonight that Dajjal/antichrist is not even mentioned in Quran!? I was influenced by them to believe it was. In fairness perhaps I missed them openly saying it was "Hadith" but obviously they never disclosed that dajjal is not in Quran lol but it illustrates how much Hadith is blended in and difficult to constantly separate out when listening to these scholars/imams.

one of the best sites that I use is https://quranx.com/ where everything is nice packed. It is similar to corpus quran but here when you click on root for a word there are two dictionaries (William Lane and Habib Anthony Salmone)
The best part is that all meanings for that word are extracted so you do not have to go through all pages of dictionary

also good site that I use for Quran translation to compare all translations (besides https://reader.quranite.com/) is http://quranix.org/

Yes, I used quranix.org for many years before I decided to develop reader.quranite.com. There are a lot of cool features in quranix.org which I also implemented in Reader.
